For thus the Lord said to me: “Go, post a lookout, let him announce what he sees.

For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth.

For thus has the Lord said to me: Go, set [yourself as] a watchman, let him declare what he sees.

For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Go, set a watchman; let him declare what he seeth:

The Lord said this to me: “Go, post a lookout to report what he sees.

For the Lord has said this to me: "Go and station a watchman. And let him announce whatever he will see."

For thus hath the Lord said to me: Go, and set a watchman: and whatsoever he shall see let him tell.

The sentinel shouted and told the king. The king said, “If he is alone, there are tidings in his mouth.” He kept coming, and drew near.

The sentinels found me, as they went about in the city. “Have you seen him whom my soul loves?”

Upon your walls, O Jerusalem, I have posted sentinels; all day and all night they shall never be silent. You who remind the Lord, take no rest,

Mortal, I have made you a sentinel for the house of Israel; whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me.
