But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few pence.


They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything – all she had to live on.’


He spoke these words while teaching in the temple courts near the place where the offerings were put. Yet no-one seized him, because his hour had not yet come.


The disciples, as each one was able, decided to provide help for the brothers and sisters living in Judea.


For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.


In the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity.
