Then some Pharisees and teachers of the law came to Jesus from Jerusalem and asked,
Instead he went out and began to talk freely, spreading the news. As a result, Jesus could no longer enter a town openly but stayed outside in lonely places. Yet the people still came to him from everywhere.
they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on people who are ill, and they will get well.’
And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem said, ‘He is possessed by Beelzebul! By the prince of demons he is driving out demons.’
At once Jesus realised that power had gone out from him. He turned round in the crowd and asked, ‘Who touched my clothes?’
The Pharisees and some of the teachers of the law who had come from Jerusalem gathered round Jesus
But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, ‘This man welcomes sinners, and eats with them.’
After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.
The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began thinking to themselves, ‘Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?’
But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law who belonged to their sect complained to his disciples, ‘Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?’
and the people all tried to touch him, because power was coming from him and healing them all.
But the Pharisees and the experts in the law rejected God’s purpose for themselves, because they had not been baptised by John.)
But Jesus said, ‘Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.’
‘You are Israel’s teacher,’ said Jesus, ‘and do you not understand these things?
But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.
Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.’
But a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, who was honoured by all the people, stood up in the Sanhedrin and ordered that the men be put outside for a little while.
