My eyes will be on the faithful in the land, that they may dwell with me; the one whose way of life is blameless will minister to me.


The one who guards a fig-tree will eat its fruit, and whoever protects their master will be honoured.


Blessed is the one who does this – the person who holds it fast, who keeps the Sabbath without desecrating it, and keeps their hands from doing any evil.’


It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns.


It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. Truly I tell you, he will dress himself to serve, will make them recline at the table and will come and wait on them.


The Lord answered, ‘Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom the master puts in charge of his servants to give them their food allowance at the proper time?


Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.


So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him.
