All the people were amazed and said to each other, ‘What words these are! With authority and power he gives orders to impure spirits and they come out!’
And they were all amazed at the greatness of God. While everyone was marvelling at all that Jesus did, he said to his disciples,
For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these, so that you will be amazed.
‘Neither this man nor his parents sinned,’ said Jesus, ‘but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.
His neighbours and those who had formerly seen him begging asked, ‘Isn’t this the same man who used to sit and beg?’
Utterly amazed, they asked: ‘Aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans?
Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts.
