And Elisha had fallen sick with his illness in which he died. And Jehoash the king of Israel came down to him and wept over his face. And he said, O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel and the horsemen of it!


And Elisha saw, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel and its horsemen! And he saw him no more. And he took hold of his clothes and tore them in two pieces.


And when he saw them, the king of Israel said to Elisha, My father, shall I strike them? Shall I strike them?


A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If then I am a father, where is My honor? And if I am a master, where is My fear? says Jehovah of Hosts to you, O priests who despise My name. And you say, In what way have we despised Your name?


Nor be called teachers, for One is your Teacher, even Christ.


For the nations seek after all these things. For your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things.


If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father in Heaven give good things to those who ask Him?


Men, brothers and fathers! Hear my defense now to you.


For though you have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers; for I have begotten you in Christ Jesus through the gospel.


and I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.


Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh who corrected us, and we gave them reverence. Shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?


Behold what manner of love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God. Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
