who forsakes the guide of her youth and forgets the covenant of her God.


Yet you say, Why? Because Jehovah has been witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously; yet she is your companion and your covenant wife.


Jehovah, the God of Israel, says He hates sending away; and to cover with violence on his garment, says Jehovah of Hosts. Then guard your spirit, and do not act treacherously.


and said, For this cause a man shall leave father and mother and shall cling to his wife, and the two of them shall be one flesh?


They said to Him, Why did Moses then command to give a bill of divorce and to put her away?


Therefore what God has joined together, let not man put apart.


For the married woman was bound by law to the living husband. But if the husband is dead, she is set free from the law of her husband.


So men ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.


Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled, but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
