And Jacob saw the countenance of Laban, and, behold, it was not toward him as before.


Wrath is cruel, and anger is overwhelming; but who is able to stand before envy?


Again, I considered all labor, and every right work, that for this a man is envied by his neighbor. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit.


Is it not lawful for me to do what I want with my own? Is your eye evil because I am good?


thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:


neither give place to the Devil.


Do not grudge against one another, brothers, lest you be condemned. Behold, the Judge stands before the door.


And it happened on the next day the evil spirit from God came on Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house. And David played with his hand, as at other times. And a spear was in Saul's hand.


And Saul was very angry, and this thing was evil in his eyes. And he said, They have given David ten thousands, and to me they have given only thousands. And what more can he have but the kingdom?


And Saul said to his son Jonathan, and to all his servants, to kill David.
