the ninth to Jesh´u-ah, the tenth to Shecani´ah,


the eleventh to Eli´ashib, the twelfth to Jakim,


and Joi´ada begat Jonathan, and Jonathan begat Jad´du-a.


The Levites in the days of Eli´ashib, Joi´ada, and Jo´hanan, and Jad´du-a, were recorded chief of the fathers: also the priests, to the reign of Dari´us the Persian.


These were in the days of Joi´akim the son of Jesh´u-a, the son of Joz´adak, and in the days of Nehemi´ah the governor, and of Ezra the priest, the scribe.


Also Bakbuki´ah and Unni, their brethren, were over against them in the watches.


And one of the sons of Joi´ada, the son of Eli´ashib the high priest, was son-in-law to Sanbal´lat the Hor´onite: therefore I chased him from me.


And before this, Eli´ashib the priest, having the oversight of the chamber of the house of our God, was allied unto Tobi´ah:


and I came to Jerusalem, and understood of the evil that Eli´ashib did for Tobi´ah, in preparing him a chamber in the courts of the house of God.


Then Eli´ashib the high priest rose up with his brethren the priests, and they builded the sheep gate; they sanctified it, and set up the doors of it; even unto the tower of Me´ah they sanctified it, unto the tower of Han´aneel.
