And the king said unto Ziba, What meanest thou by these? And Ziba said, The asses be for the king's household to ride on; and the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat; and the wine, that such as be faint in the wilderness may drink.


Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.


And Ja´ir the son of Manas´seh went and took the small towns thereof, and called them Havoth–ja´ir.


Ja´ir the son of Manas´seh took all the country of Argob unto the coasts of Gesh´uri and Ma-ach´athi; and called them after his own name, Ba´shan–hav´oth–ja´ir, unto this day.


And after him arose Ja´ir, a Gil´e-adite, and judged Israel twenty and two years.


And Ja´ir died, and was buried in Camon.


And he had forty sons and thirty nephews, that rode on threescore and ten ass colts: and he judged Israel eight years.


Speak, ye that ride on white asses, ye that sit in judgment, and walk by the way.
