God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the Scripture saith of Eli´jah? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,


For what saith the Scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.


But the Scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.


And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.


For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a free woman.


So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.


Do ye think that the Scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
