If God will not withdraw his anger, the proud helpers do stoop under him.


Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the Lord shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is helped shall fall down, and they all shall fail together.


Behold, these shall come from far: and, lo, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.


How say ye, We are mighty and strong men for the war?


behold, therefore I am against thee, and against thy rivers, and I will make the land of Egypt utterly waste and desolate, from the tower of Sy-e´ne even unto the border of Ethiopia.


For I will lay the land most desolate, and the pomp of her strength shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, that none shall pass through.


Ethiopia and Egypt were her strength, and it was infinite; Put and Lubim were thy helpers.
