and the dogs shall eat Jez´ebel in the portion of Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her. And he opened the door, and fled.


And when he was come in, he did eat and drink, and said, Go, see now this cursed woman, and bury her: for she is a king's daughter.


Wherefore they came again, and told him. And he said, This is the word of the Lord, which he spake by his servant Eli´jah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel shall dogs eat the flesh of Jez´ebel:


Is not destruction to the wicked? and a strange punishment to the workers of iniquity?


If a man beget a hundred children, and live many years, so that the days of his years be many, and his soul be not filled with good, and also that he have no burial; I say, that an untimely birth is better than he.


He shall be buried with the burial of an ass, drawn and cast forth beyond the gates of Jerusalem.


Therefore thus saith the Lord of Jehoi´akim king of Judah; He shall have none to sit upon the throne of David: and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.


And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.
