So they came and called unto the porter of the city: and they told them, saying, We came to the camp of the Syrians, and, behold, there was no man there, neither voice of man, but horses tied, and asses tied, and the tents as they were.


moreover four thousand were porters; and four thousand praised the Lord with the instruments which I made, said David, to praise therewith.


and Obadi´ah the son of Shemai´ah, the son of Galal, the son of Jedu´thun, and Berechi´ah the son of Asa, the son of Elka´nah, that dwelt in the villages of the Netoph´athites.


who hitherto waited in the king's gate eastward: they were porters in the companies of the children of Levi.

Moreover the porters, Akkub, Talmon, and their brethren that kept the gates, were a hundred seventy and two.
