And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elha´nan the son of Ja´are–o´regim, a Beth´lehemite, slew the brother of Goli´ath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.


As´ahel the brother of Jo´ab was one of the thirty; Elha´nan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem,


So Jo´ab and Ab´ishai his brother slew Abner, because he had slain their brother As´ahel at Gibeon in the battle.
