In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.


Ye are blessed of the Lord which made heaven and earth.


The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.


They that make them are like unto them: so is every one that trusteth in them.


what is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?


Behold, they are all vanity; their works are nothing: their molten images are wind and confusion.


Thus saith God the Lord, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:


Moreover ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands:


As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.
