where the people of Israel were slain before the servants of David, and there was there a great slaughter that day of twenty thousand men.


The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his Anointed, saying,


Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.


Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;


The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.


When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.


When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.


What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
