And Isaac entreated the Lord for his wife, because she was barren: and the Lord was entreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.


And the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season that Eli´sha had said unto her, according to the time of life.


God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.


Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the Lord.


And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then she shall be free, and shall conceive seed.


For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath a husband.


They that were full have hired out themselves for bread; and they that were hungry ceased: so that the barren hath borne seven; and she that hath many children is waxed feeble.
