The king said moreover to Shim´e-i, Thou knowest all the wickedness which thine heart is privy to, that thou didst to David my father; therefore the Lord shall return thy wickedness upon thine own head:
that thou mayest remember, and be confounded, and never open thy mouth any more because of thy shame, when I am pacified toward thee for all that thou hast done, saith the Lord God.
For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?
leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
