I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:


And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?


And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;


And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:


And he arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judea by the farther side of Jordan: and the people resort unto him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again.


And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set a hedge about it, and digged a place for the winevat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country.


And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the market places,


And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?


And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:


Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:


The high priest then asked Jesus of his disciples, and of his doctrine.
