Joshua 8:21
4 Tagairtí Cros

When Jo´ab saw that the front of the battle was against him before and behind, he chose of all the choice men of Israel, and put them in array against the Syrians:

Now it came to pass, when Ado´ni–ze´dek king of Jerusalem had heard how Joshua had taken A´i, and had utterly destroyed it; as he had done to Jericho and her king, so he had done to A´i and her king; and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel, and were among them;

And when the men of A´i looked behind them, they saw, and, behold, the smoke of the city ascended up to heaven, and they had no power to flee this way or that way: and the people that fled to the wilderness turned back upon the pursuers.

And the other issued out of the city against them; so they were in the midst of Israel, some on this side, and some on that side: and they smote them, so that they let none of them remain or escape.
