There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicode´mus, a ruler of the Jews:

There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

NOW THERE was a certain man among the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler (a leader, an authority) among the Jews,

Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

There was a Pharisee named Nicodemus, a Jewish leader.

Now there was a man among the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a leader of the Jews.

AND there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.

And Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people,

And there came also Nicode´mus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pound weight.

Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?

But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?
