And the king of Assyria sent Tartan and Rab–sa´ris and Rab–sha´keh from Lachish to king Hezeki´ah with a great host against Jerusalem: and they went up and came to Jerusalem. And when they were come up, they came and stood by the conduit of the upper pool, which is in the highway of the fuller's field.


And he went forth and warred against the Philistines, and brake down the wall of Gath, and the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod, and built cities about Ashdod, and among the Philistines.


Howl, O gate; cry, O city; thou, whole Palesti´na, art dissolved: for there shall come from the north a smoke, and none shall be alone in his appointed times.
