Now it came to pass in the days of Ahasue´rus, (this is Ahasue´rus which reigned from India even unto Ethiopia, over a hundred and seven and twenty provinces,)


Prepare against her the nations with the kings of the Medes, the captains thereof, and all the rulers thereof, and all the land of his dominion.


Also I in the first year of Dari´us the Mede, even I, stood to confirm and to strengthen him.


Then Nebuchadnez´zar the king sent to gather together the princes, the governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counselors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnez´zar the king had set up.


And Dari´us the Me´di-an took the kingdom, being about threescore and two years old.


and over these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first: that the princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage.


In the first year of Dari´us the son of Ahasue´rus, of the seed of the Medes, which was made king over the realm of the Chalde´ans;


or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.
