But Abner the son of Ner, captain of Saul's host, took Ish–bo´sheth the son of Saul, and brought him over to Mahana´im;

Come up unto me, and help me, that we may smite Gibeon: for it hath made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel.
And when the inhabitants of Gibeon heard what Joshua had done unto Jericho and to A´i,
If he be able to fight with me, and to kill me, then will we be your servants: but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall ye be our servants, and serve us.
