Thus they changed their glory into the image of an ox that eats grass.


To whom then will you liken God? or what likeness will you compare unto him?


Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who has created these things, that brings out their host by number: he calls them all by names by the greatness of his might, for he is strong in power; not one is missing.


The carpenter stretches out his rule; he marks it out with a line; he fashions it with planes, and he marks it out with the compass, and makes it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man; that it may remain in the house.


Has a nation changed its gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which does not profit.


So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed upon the wall round about.


In which were all manner of four-footed beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.


Therefore then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Deity is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.


Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.


You know that you were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as you were led.


You shall not make you any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:


For the time past of our life will suffice us to have done the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in licentiousness, lusts, excess of wine, reveling, carousing, and abominable idolatries:


And the rest of the men who were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, and silver, and bronze, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:
