[A Psalm of David.] Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications: in your faithfulness answer me, and in your righteousness.
Hear me speedily, O LORD: my spirit fails: hide not your face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.
Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto you, when I lift up my hands toward your holy sanctuary.
Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that desire my hurt.
