And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
And the LORD smelled a sweet odor; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more everything living, as I have done.
Cast out the scoffer, and contention shall go out; yea, strife and reproach shall cease.
For as he thinks in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, says he to you; but his heart is not with you.
Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.
He that reproves a scoffer gets for himself shame: and he that rebukes a wicked man gets himself injury.
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
