And unto his son will I give one tribe, that David my servant may have a light always before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen to put my name there.


How often is the lamp of the wicked put out! and how often comes their destruction upon them! God distributes sorrows in his anger.


When his lamp shined upon my head, and when by his light I walked through darkness;


Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.


Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.


Only by pride comes strife: but with the well advised is wisdom.


The ransom of a man's life are his riches: but the poor hears not rebuke.


Whosoever curses his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in utter darkness.


For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.


But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shines more and more unto the perfect day.


And when I shall put you out, I will cover the heaven, and make its stars dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give its light.


Why should the name of our father be done away from among his family, because he has no son? Give unto us therefore a possession among the brethren of our father.
