I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return you now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and you shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but you have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me.
And the tenants took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.
But when the tenants saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize his inheritance.
When the lord therefore of the vineyard comes, what will he do unto those tenants?
They said unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other tenants, who shall render him the fruits in their seasons.
And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.
And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set a hedge about it, and dug a place for the winepress, and built a tower, and let it out to tenants, and went into a far country.
But those tenants said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.
What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the tenants, and will give the vineyard unto others.
Then began he to speak to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it out to tenants, and went into a far country for a long time.
