You have sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.


The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me: and I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy.


Learn to do good; seek justice, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.


They have grown fat, they shine: yea, they pass over the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not defend.


Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and you be cast into prison.


Saying, There was in a city a judge, who feared not God, neither regarded man:


And he would not for awhile: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;


Yet because this widow troubles me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she wearies me.


Cursed be he that perverts the justice due the stranger, fatherless, and widow. And all the people shall say, Amen.
