You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks upon you: I am the LORD.


He that touches the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days.


This is the law, when a man dies in a tent: all that come into the tent, and all that is in the tent, shall be unclean seven days.


He shall not make himself unclean for his father, or for his mother, for his brother, or for his sister, when they die: because the consecration of his God is upon his head.


If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.


Therefore from now on know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet from now on know we him no more.


Who said unto his father and to his mother, I have not seen him; neither did he acknowledge his brethren, nor knew his own children: for they have observed your word, and kept your covenant.
