You are wearied in the multitude of your counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save you from these things that shall come upon you.


And they said, There is no hope: but we will walk after our own plans, and we will everyone do the imagination of his evil heart.


Withhold your foot from being unshod, and your throat from thirst: but you said, There is no hope: no; for I have loved strangers, and after them will I go.


Why gad you about so much to change your way? you also shall be ashamed of Egypt, as you were ashamed of Assyria.


Therefore the showers have been withheld, and there has been no latter rain; and you had a harlot’s forehead, you refused to be ashamed.


O LORD, are not your eyes upon the truth? you have stricken them, but they have not grieved; you have consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.


And they will deceive everyone his neighbor, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity.


She has wearied herself with lies, and her great scum went not forth out of her: her scum shall be in the fire.


Behold, is it not of the LORD of hosts that the people shall labor to feed the fire, and the people shall weary themselves in vain?


For I was alive apart from the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
