And he cried against the altar by the word of the LORD, and said, O altar, altar, thus says the LORD; Behold, a child shall be born unto the house of David, Josiah by name; and upon you shall he offer the priests of the high places that burn incense upon you, and men’s bones shall be burnt upon you.
And this thing became sin unto the house of Jeroboam, even to cut it off, and to destroy it from off the face of the earth.
And he shall give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, who did sin, and who made Israel to sin.
Moreover the altar that was at Beth-el, and the high place which Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, had made, both that altar and the high place he broke down, and burned the high place, and crushed it to powder, and burned the idol pole.
