When Judah saw her, he thought her to be a harlot; because she had covered her face.


And she arose, and went away, and laid by her veil from her, and put on the garments of her widowhood.


And Judah acknowledged them, and said, She has been more righteous than I; because I gave her not to Shelah my son. And he knew her again no more.


And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of a harlot, and subtle of heart.


Now is she outside, now in the streets, and lies in wait at every corner.)


Lift up your eyes unto the high places, and see where you have not been lain with. In the ways have you sat for them, as the Arabian in the wilderness; and you have polluted the land with your harlotries and with your wickedness.
