Amos 3:8

O my threshing, and the grain of my floor: that which I have heard of the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, have I declared unto you.


For thus has the LORD spoken unto me, Like the lion and the young lion roaring over his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor disturbed by the noise of them: so shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for its hill.


Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in my heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary from holding it back, and I could not.


Then spoke Jeremiah unto all the princes and to all the people, saying, The LORD sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that you have heard.


In that day will I cause the horn of the house of Israel to spring forth, and I will open your mouth to speak in the midst of them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.


And he said, The LORD will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.


But you gave the Nazarites wine to drink; and commanded the prophets, saying, Prophesy not.


Will a lion roar in the forest, when he has no prey? will a young lion cry out from his den, if he has taken nothing?


For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.


Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.


Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.


For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!


And one of the elders said unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
