I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother: I bowed down heavily, as one that mourns for his mother.


If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me; (yea, I have delivered him that without cause is my enemy:)


But he that sins against me wrongs his own soul: all they that hate me love death.


Be not overly wicked, neither be foolish: why should you die before your time?


You shall not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD.


But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them who despitefully use you, and persecute you;


And Jesus answered and said, No more of this. And he touched his ear, and healed him.


Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his clothing, and cast lots.


And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had fled.


Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,


See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
