For Herod, having seized John, bound him, and put him in prison for Herodias, his brother Philip's wife:


And Jesus having heard that John was delivered up, went back into Galilee.


Then came to him the disciples of John; saying, Wherefore do we and the Pharisees fast much, and thy disciples fast not?


For this Herod, having sent, took John, and bound him in prison because of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife: for he married her.


And Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him for Herodias his brother Philip's wife, and for all the evils which Herod did,


And Herod the tetrarch heard all done by him: and was in perplexity, for it was said by certain, that John had been raised from the dead.
