And who attempted to profane the temple: whom we also seized, and wished to judge according to our law.

who also hath gone about to profane the temple: whom we took, and would have judged according to our law.

He also [even] tried to desecrate and defile the temple, but we laid hands on him and would have sentenced him by our Law,

who moreover assayed to profane the temple: on whom also we laid hold:

and even tried to defile the temple. That’s when we arrested him.

And he has even been attempting to violate the temple. And having apprehended him, we wanted him to be judged according to our law.

Who also hath gone about to profane the temple: whom, we having apprehended, would also have judged according to our law.

Then said Pilate to them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. Then said the Jews to him, It is not lawful for us to kill any one:

For ye brought these men not sacrilegious, nor blaspheming your goddess.

And they vociferating, and casting garments away, and throwing a cloud of dust into the air,

And neither in the temple found they me discussing with any, or making a revolt of the crowd, neither in synagogues, nor in the city:

And Lysias the captain of a thousand, having come with much force, carried away out of our hands,
