You will be like someone who escapes from a lion only to be attacked by a bear, or like someone who goes into the safety of his house, leans against the wall, and is bitten by a snake.
I saw the Lord standing by the altar, and he said, “Hit the top of the columns, and shake them to the ground. Push them and they will fall on everyone’s head. As for those who survive, I will kill them with a sword. None of them will run away. None of them will escape.
So they all went to the tomb and made it safe from thieves. They did this by sealing the stone in the entrance and putting soldiers there to guard it.
but someone found them hiding in that cave. Joshua learned about this.
But don’t stay there yourselves. Continue chasing the enemy and attacking them from behind. Don’t let the enemy get back to their cities. The Lord your God has given you the victory over them.”
Joshua said, “Move the rocks that are covering the entrance to the cave. Bring the five kings to me.”
