David built there an altar to the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and shalom offerings, and called on the LORD; and he answered him from the sky by fire on the altar of burnt offering.
Shlomo went up there to the bronze altar before the LORD, which was at the tent of meeting, and offered one thousand burnt offerings on it.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.
