But it was so, that in the three and twentieth year of king Yeho'ash the Kohanim had not repaired the breaches of the house.


The sacrifice made by the wicked is an abomination to the LORD, but the prayer of the upright is his delight.


Thus says the LORD to this people, Even so have they loved to wander; they have not refrained their feet: therefore the LORD does not accept them; now he will remember their iniquity, and visit their sins.


When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and meal offering, I will not accept them; but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.


For from the least of them even to the greatest of them everyone is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even to the Kohen everyone deals falsely.


To what purpose comes there to me frankincense from Sheva, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices pleasing to me.


Therefore will I give their wives to others, and their fields to those who shall possess them: for everyone from the least even to the greatest is given to covetousness; from the prophet even to the Kohen every one deals falsely.


They will go with their flocks and with their herds to seek the LORD; but they won't find him. He has withdrawn himself from them.


Her leaders judge for bribes, and her Kohanim teach for a price, and her prophets of it tell fortunes for money: yet they lean on the LORD, and say, *Isn't the LORD in the midst of us? No disaster will come on us.*


You say also, 'Behold, what a weariness it is!' and you have sniffed at it,* says the LORD of Armies; *and you have brought that which was taken by violence, the lame, and the sick; thus you bring the offering. Should I accept this at your hand?* says the LORD.


The LORD will cut off, to the man who does this, him who wakes and him who answers, out of the tents of Ya`akov, and him who offers an offering to the LORD of Armies.


This again you do: you cover the altar of the LORD with tears, with weeping, and with sighing, because he doesn't regard the offering any more, neither receives it with good will at your hand.


He who is a hired hand, and not a shepherd, who doesn't own the sheep, sees the wolf coming, leaves the sheep, and flees. The wolf snatches the sheep, and scatters them.


Don't you know that those who serve around sacred things eat from the things of the temple, and those who wait on the altar have their portion with the altar?


For they all seek their own, not the things of Yeshua the Messiah.


But the righteous will live by faith. If he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.*
