They forsook the house of the LORD, the God of their fathers, and served the Asherim and the idols: and wrath came on Yehudah and Yerushalayim for this their guiltiness.


Your wickedness may hurt a man as you are, and your righteousness may profit a son of man.


Moshe said to Aharon, and to El`azar and to Itamar, his sons, *Don't let the hair of your heads go loose, neither tear your clothes; that you don't die, and that he not be angry with all the congregation: but let your brothers, the whole house of Yisra'el, bewail the burning which the LORD has kindled.


Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
