Then Yeshua came from the Galil to the Yarden to Yochanan, to be immersed by him.
He will go before him in the spirit and power of Eliyahu, 'to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,' and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.*
This is he of whom I said, 'After me comes a man who is preferred before me, for he was before me.'
Yochanan testified, saying, *I have seen the Spirit descending like a dove out of heaven, and it remained on him.
I didn't recognize him, but he who sent me to immerse in water, he said to me, 'On whomever you will see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he who immerses in the Holy Spirit.'
The same came as a witness, that he might testify about the light, that all might believe through him.
Sha'ul said, *Yochanan indeed immersed with the immersion of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe in the one who would come after him, that is, in Yeshua.*
