The burden of Egypt: *Behold, the LORD rides on a swift cloud, and comes to Egypt. The idols of Egypt will tremble at his presence; and the heart of Egypt will melt in its midst.
Bel bows down, Nevo 1 stoops; their idols are on the animals, and on the livestock: the things that you carried about are made a load, a burden to the weary [animal].
I will declare your righteousness; and as for your works, they shall not profit you.

Declare you among the nations and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and don't conceal: say, Bavel is taken, Bel is disappointed, Merodakh is dismayed; her images are disappointed, her idols are dismayed.
In all your dwelling places the cities shall be laid waste, and the high places shall be desolate; that your altars may be laid waste and made desolate, and your idols may be broken and cease, and your incense altars may be hewn down, and your works may be abolished.
The LORD will be awesome to them, for he will famish all the gods of the land. Men will worship him, everyone from his place, even all the shores of the nations.
*Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and bring you good news, that you should turn from these vain things to the living God, who made the sky and the earth and the sea, and all that is in them;
