For they also built them high places, and pillars, and Asherim, on every high hill, and under every green tree;
He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bonds in sunder.

They answered Yehoshua, saying, All that you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go.
The people said to Yehoshua, the LORD our God will we serve, and to his voice will we listen.
