The king of Ashur listened to him; and the king of Ashur went up against Damascus, and took it, and carried [the people of] it captive to Kir, and killed Retzin.


He will be a sanctuary, but for both houses of Yisra'el, he will be a trap and a snare for the inhabitants of Yerushalayim.


For before the child knows how to say, 'My father,' and, 'My mother,' the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Shomron will be carried away by the king of Ashur.*


Therefore the LORD will set up on high against him the adversaries of Retzin, and will stir up his enemies,
