12 Tagairtí Cros

*Because of the oppression of the weak and because of the groaning of the needy, I will now arise,* says the LORD; *I will set him in safety from those who malign him.*

Arise, God! Plead your own cause. Remember how the foolish man mocks you all day.

*Come now, and let us reason together,* says the LORD: *Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Thus says your Lord GOD, and your God who pleads the cause of his people, Behold, I have taken out of your hand the cup of staggering, even the bowl of the cup of my wrath; you shall no more drink it again:

For by fire will the LORD execute judgment, and by his sword, on all flesh; and the slain of the LORD shall be many.

*Let the nations arouse themselves, and come up to the valley of Yehoshafat; for there will I sit to judge all the surrounding nations.

Listen now to what the LORD says: *Arise, plead your case before the mountains, and let the hills hear what you have to say.

Hear, you mountains, the LORD's controversy, and you enduring foundations of the earth; for the LORD has a controversy with his people, and he will contend with Yisra'el.
