As the waters fail from the sea, and the river wastes and dries up,


For the waters of Nimrim will be desolate; for the grass has withered away, the tender grass fails, there is no green thing.


He has stretched out his hand over the sea. He has shaken the kingdoms. The LORD has ordered the destruction of Kena`an's strongholds.


I have dug and drunk water, and with the sole of my feet I will dry up all the rivers of Egypt.*


Why, when I came, was there no man? when I called, was there none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it can't redeem? or have I no power to deliver? Behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stink, because there is no water, and die for thirst.


Therefore thus says the LORD: Behold, I will plead your cause, and take vengeance for you; and I will dry up her sea, and make her fountain dry.


I will make the rivers dry, and will sell the land into the hand of evil men; and I will make the land desolate, and all that is therein, by the hand of strangers: I, the LORD, have spoken it.
