Therefore he swore to them that he would overthrow them in the wilderness,


Therefore I swore in my wrath, *They won't enter into my rest.*


Now the `Amaleki and the Kena`ani dwell in the valley: tomorrow turn you, and get you into the wilderness by the way to the Sea of Suf.


I, the LORD, have spoken, surely this will I do to all this evil congregation, who are gathered together against me: in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.


The days in which we came from Kadesh-Barnea, until we were come over the brook Zered, were thirty-eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were consumed from the midst of the camp, as the LORD swore to them.


For we who have believed do enter into that rest, even as he has said, *As I swore in my wrath, they will not enter into my rest;* although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.


and in this place again, *They will not enter into my rest.*


There remains therefore a Shabbat rest for the people of God.
